I want to lie so badly and say how terrible Mr Price Sport’s first BlogOlympics was! I want to lie because I don’t want other bloggers to find out what an incredible experience it was and want to be a part of it in 2014.
24 of the country’s top sport and lifestyle bloggers and athletes assembled at the spectacular Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban for a fun-filled day of activities. Grouped according to cities – Team Cape Town (my team!), Team Jozi and Team Durban were up bright and early to take part in a series of events that had us decked out in our Mr Price Sport kit and ready to compete using Mr Price Sport’s ProMaster range of recreational games.
The hula-hoop, the first event was where I was able to show my skills, coming second to Team Jozi’s Kate Nokwe. It was the confidence booster I needed to tackle the rest of the events.
Being part of Team Cape Town meant we were naturally competitive, but Team Joburg had the hunger early on, leading the pack after the first few events, but after lunch, things changed….
Team Cape Town, second behind Team Jozi, started dominating the events, and a close contest at the end was in store.
And the climax in the final obstacle course came, with Team Cape Town pipping Team Jozi, and Durban coming in 3rd.
What a honour it was to be a part of the winning team!
Shout out to my Cape Town champs!
You all made my trip an incredible experience.
